During the consultation, Dr. Alozie-Uddoh performs a comprehensive eye exam, discusses your symptoms, and determines the best type of intraocular lens (IOL) for your needs.
You’ll receive instructions to start prescribed eye drops, avoid certain medications, and prepare for surgery by arranging transportation and following fasting guidelines if required.
On the day of the procedure, you’ll receive sedatives and numbing eye drops, and undergo the painless lens replacement surgery, which typically lasts 15–30 minutes.
After surgery, you’ll rest at home, wear a protective eye shield, and start using prescribed eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection.
Over the first week, you’ll avoid strenuous activities and closely follow post-surgery care instructions to ensure proper healing and minimize risks.
Attend follow-up visits, usually within a day, a week, and a month after surgery, to monitor healing and address any concerns about your vision or eye health.
